Monday 16th May Part 2

..it seems that I can only get 4 photos through at a time, tiresome..

And on to Cromarty which turned out to be quite a posh place and a lot of things to look at.

A stone re Cleopatra (might be a locally built boat?)

038_thumb Road to nowhere, to Nigg from 18th May if P Keith does the biz.

The road to the ferry from Cromarty to Nigg. On the maps it says a 2 car ferry so I didn’t expect to be able to cross. I was told by the lady in the Groam House Museum that it hadn’t run for over a year, that it is privately owned, they had had to sell the boat to finance an upgrade to a 4 car boat which was built in Southampton and they had had problems with the new boat and that it was being officially launched on 18th by Penelope Keith who lives locally in Avoch and “is a lovely lady”. I found the vessel in the harbour; it has a turntable.
