8th September–going south

After dropping Sandy and Rita off in Alnwick I went to Durham, never having been to the Cathedral.

I went up the tower.  Not internally interesting (the journey up the tower thhat is) but quite a nice view from the top  of the exercise yard of Durham jail.

There’s another connection with my travels over the summer,  the Saints Oswald, Cuthbert, Ninian and Aidan with all the various Abbeys I visited including that of Whithorn.  The monks travelled around for 7 years with St Cuthbert’s coffin….
