30 April: Arran & 1 May: Ayr

My last evening in the campsite in Lochranza was a fairly dramatic one with a major storm setting in as the sun set.

So the following day was not a fine one

The story of this post box was that the mason was dropped off with instructions to build something to take a post box and was left at the road junction for so long, this is what he constructed.

I left Arran and went to Ayr, which is a useful place to be as it has a campsite within walking distance of a mainline station (which I used later on in the summer.)

And one thing it is famous for is the Scot’s mile
