Falklands Wildlife 6 Magellanic penguins

There seem to be the most of these and they are the most timid and the least charismatic.  They live in burrows so they run to their burrows and usually disappear or, if they are between you and the sea, they run or scrabble on their tummies into the sea.    They are called Jackass penguins as they bray and honk like mules.  They have poor eyesight – hence the timidity?  And there are fleas in the burrows – the only biting insect in the Falklands

Areas covered with their burrows remind me of very busy golf courses.
