An extraordinary event was taking place when I arrived – the King Cormorant chicks were learning to fly.  They flew from the hill behind the settlement into the settlement, hung about for a bit and then walked back up the hill to do the same the following day.

The weather when I was on Bleaker was not good – very heavy winds, difficult to stand up, binoculars hopeless  and impossible to take photos.

On top of that I was the only person staying in a brand new building with 4 double bedrooms all with en suite bathrooms.  The host (i.e the farmers wife on the island) brought plated up meals ready for the microwave across to me from her house.  So I had time to kill and did the following jigsaw in less than 24 hours.
