Unloading crabs by the big bucket
A “Telford” church – there were government grants to build churchs and Telford designed and built a number of these. The one at Ullapool is the best preserved. There was a gallery which they were using to show a video on the area.
Ullapool has some fine buildings, hotels and old warehouses which have not been too pulled about, at least from the outside.
I drove south to Inverewe Gardens
Inverewe House in need of love and attention – and a purpose.
Oak tree in Inverewe gardens. A great deal of the soil was imported.
I drove on to Gairloch
Gairloch museum, and yes, I was the only one there but the old chap didn’t act as a personal guide
The old lighthouse prisms
Local Jurassic fossils, known as “devil’s toenails”
I’m not sure the sign and the WC are necessarily related.
Then I looped back to Ullapool, quite a long day/drive…
